Coffee arrived in Istanbul in 1517. It was initially consumed exclusively in the palace but was introduced to the public thanks to the opening of the world’s first coffeehouse in Eminönü in 1554. In the following years, the journey of coffee and coffeehouses continued from Istanbul to Europe and then to the New World. Different brewing methods were invented. But none of these methods could replace the unforgettable memory of a cup of Turkish Coffee.
